Numly Widget Supports Creative Commons

Numly, a Web 2.0 startup focused on Copyright 2.0 solutions, has just released version 1.2 of its Apple OSX Widget. In addition to the mark submission as private flag and the optional barcode and rating system features, Numly has added support for Creative Commons licenses.

Until recently, Numly has only supported the All Rights Reserved copyright license. Now you can select from a list of 7 Creative Commons licenses including Public Domain. A list of the supported Creative Commons licenses can be found at http://creativecommons.org/about/licenses/meet-the-licenses

Currently Creative Commons support of Numly Numbers is available through the Numly.com web portal and the Apple Widget. Changes to our Firefox extension have also been made but are pending Mozilla approval. A beta version of our WordPress plug-in with Creative Commons support is also available at the following link: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/69426?replies=1#post-365406

Upon registration of your content with Numly, you will receive an official Numly Number for your content to prove your copyright claim along with all of the necessary HTML code to display your Numly Number and Creative Commons (or All Rights Reserved) licenses in your work. The Numly code contains a tracking mechanism that allows you to see all IP addresses and companies that have viewed your content online as well as an optional barcode and approval ratings.
